Hey everyone, I know you’re wondering why am I reviewing a toy drone ? The answer is I want to learn how to fly drones, so I can use one with a video camera and do areal footage. In order for me to learn how to fly one, I have to start small and work my way up. This was a really trying experience for me. When I wanted the YouTube videos on how to operate a drone. They make it look easy but the fact of the matter is it’s not easy and takes lots of practice.
This is what you get in the box. The batteries for the flight controller are not included.
The battery is inside the hexacoper. Make sure yousharge the battery first before you fly the copter. The battery charge takes about 30 to 45minutes. The charge cord (not shown) will light up when the battery is charged up. That’s how you will know it’s charged.
Sorry for the video, I know it’s not great but Boyce and I are novices. This is the indoor test flight, we ran into problems with hair getting wrapped up in the propeller motors. Since we are all novices, the indoor test flight was not great. We kept on running into the walls and almost landing in the sink full of dishwater. I did take it outside and got it to fly. Then it got caught in some grass and burnt out one of the propeller motors. Only 5 motors work now. I can get it to hover on the ground and move around like an air hockey puck.
Overall the trying experience has taught me a lot. Here are my recommendations if you plan in buying this hexacopter. If you’re starting out on drones, this is great one to start with. Even with all the bad things that happened, I learned a lot from my mistakes. I plan to get another one of these drones because they’re not that expensive. I can use the left over parts to replace what I broke. If you plan to fly this hexacopter outside practice lift off and landing first before you start flying. Flying outside, make sure it’s not too windy. The wind will carry your hexacopter away and make it crash hard.
The Arshiner JJRC H20 Hexacopter sells for $20.49 and comes in Red or Gold.
There are “hacks” on YouTube to enhance the Arschiner JJRC H20 Hexacopter. This will help the range of the hexacopter and battery issues. I plan to do more drone posts in the future. If you have any questions, please leave comments. Have a great day and see you soon.
