Today I wanted to inform you about ProCamera’s latest in-app purchase, Low Light Plus and what this new camera mode had to bring to the table. I’ve used quite a few different low light settings in a lot of apps. Most of them I’m never really happy with the results. The photos will have chunky areas of noise. They seem look so flat, that someone literally took a knife and spread out all the details to the point where looks like you had one to many plastic surgeries done. The just look very unrealistic and cartoonish.
You can really see a difference between the photo with Low Light Plus in this press photo. But to make sure I have to do the test myself and see if it was that good. Below I did a test shot and blew up an area in the photo to see the difference.
This is an example of Low Light Plus in action from my iPhone. The first photo on the right was taken with Low Light Plus. The second photo was just shot on regular camera mode with ProCamera. You can see a huge difference in noise reduction right off the bat. I’m really impressed with most of the noise is cleaned up on the first photo.
What else is nice your photos don’t loose any details. Most noise reduction apps, you loose details and the photos become flat or over dreamy/creamy. With this new in-app purchase update, this will improve your post processing editing with less frustration. A lot of times when I use Noiseware or PS Express, there’s always some noise left in the photo where it can stick our like a sore thumb. I always have to use HandyPhoto to clone out or retouch those spots in the photo. Most of the time that can be time consuming, they don’t always match the spots right and a real pain in the ass. Especially when you have to constantly go over the same spot and it looks like a plaster spot on your photo.
Now Low Light Plus isn’t cheap, if you’re unsure about buying into it. Then test it first, if you like the results then I buy it. I just bought it because it’s a no-brainer for me. They really take the time to make a quality app for people who want to take their mobile photography to the next level. It’s the app I use as my main camera app. Low Light Plus costs $2.99.
