Gript is a universal smartphone grip and tripod adapter. I finally got my hands on one and been playing with my Gript all day.
This is what I got and it’s in a nice little box. When you get it out of the box, you don’t have to put anything together. It’s ready go !!!
The Gript is made of aluminum with a stainless steal screw. It also has a heavy duty strap to hold your finger in place while you use the Gript. It’s actually pretty comfortable but I have small hands. Depending on your hand size and how your hold the device. You can side two or three fingers in the strap. The strap is adjustable with velcro. There are four thing rubber pads that holds your smartphone in place once you’ve screw it down in place. The Gript also has 1/4″-20, 3/8″ and Arca-Swiss mounts to fit just about any tripod or other gear you want to use with your smartphone.
I broke out my old iPhone 4S to see if it would fit without a case on it. The iPhone 4S fits nicely and is lock in place once your screw down the Gript. I could hold with ease same thing with my iPhone 6 Plus. I could hold it comfortably in my small hand.
Everyone knows I’m a mobile macro photographer and the Gript came in handy for me for taking better stable macro shots. I was also able to get better macro photos because I had better stability with my iPhone 6 Plus. All thanks to the Gript. Both photos were shot with a 30x macro lens. It’s really hard to use this lens because you have to be absolutely still and extremely up close using this lens. The lens is on a threaded case, so it was nice to be able to use that threaded lens case instead of a clip on lens. I have peace of mind having a simple case on my iPhone 6 Plus.
This ia really important for iPod Touch users. If you want to get one of these Gript, you have to have the iPod Touch in a case. I tried putting the Gript on my iPod Touch. It didn’t screw down far enough, so my iPod Touch just slid out. I got Vida’s iPod Touch because she’s using my case until she gets one. With a case one you can use an iPod Touch, made sure you use a thick case.
What makes this product great is the fact you can use a heavy case and still have room to work with it. This is a huge advantage for people with iPhone 6/6s Plus, Nexus 6p, LG V10 and Galaxy Note 4/5.
Gript comes in four colors shown up above. You can order one through Amazon for $29.95. Overall Gript is one robust grip/tripod adapter. It’s light weight and easy to use. I like how it locks in pace once you screw it down. The price of the Gript is a bargain, even if the strap wears out and the rubber pads wear out. You can replace the rubber pads and use it as a tripod adapter. You can even use it with your DSLR if you got a shoe mount screws and use it on your DSLR flash mount. It’s just a great product to have in your mobile gear bag.
If you have any questions about this blog post, please leave comments, I want to thank Rowan Bradley for giving me the opportunity to review the Gript. Have a great day and see you soon !!!
