Combo Apps/Updates and other news…

Glitché was recenlty updated and they finally added video. Of course I got really excited and paid for the $2.99 in-app purchase. Well. I should have waited because the update needs improvement and doesn’t work very well. My recommendation is wait for a 2.1 or 2.0.1 update or maybe wait longer for 2.2 update. It takes a few updates to work out all the bugs and make an app work smoothly. Unless the developer does heavy beta testing on old to new iOS devices in a controlled environment. That’s my news on Glitché’s update…

Analogue is an app I have tested for a little while. It’s one of the few camera apps that will have true large formate camera abilities. It’s hard app to use because the view finder is upside down, just like the larger format camera. When you shoot your subjects will be a negative, you can invert your negatives. When you convert to positive, it will be a darkroom style of developing your images. You will need to use a tripod when shooting your photos because it’s hard to adjust to the upside viewfinder. You will have choices like Selenium, Cyanotype and Sepia for monotone effects. But the good news about this app that it opens up for iPadographers and a community for large format mobile photography community. I can see The F/64 Groupcoming back to the digital age with iPads and other tablets. This app will make it affordable for people who love using large format cameras but can’t afford the equipment and a darkroom set up. Analogue will be out in early to mid 2016…

Macro

Two years ago I was doing Project 365 and had to quit half way through the project due to health problems. I’m going to try this project again and hoping to finish this project. The project will be all done with macro photos shot with many types of macro lenses and shot with ProCamera.

Last I wanted to talk about the future of Combo Apps and my plans for the future. I’m going to go with GoFundMe and raise the money to make a new website. The Combo Apps name will go away because there is a marketing company with the name Combo App. I don’t want to end up with a bunch legal battles in the future. But first I need to raise the money, that will go towards a webpage with a real web designer and other costs. I talk to a web designer. He gave me the break down for the costs and the costs to maintain the website. I’ll give more details in the near future.

That’s all I have for news at the moment. We all know that a lot can happen in one year. If you have an questions about this blog post, please leave comments. Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR and see you soon !!!

    Hello ashcroft54 (Tina).

I am a little behind on reading your blog as you can tell. Lots of interesting angles in here. Looking forward to seeing the various plans developing.

Will be posting your 365 project macro shots ina special album anywhere? I would love to follow your shots.

Could I ask you an unrealted question that utilizes your knowledge of video apps. I have, say, several hundred still photos that I would like to assemble as a timelapse video. Is there an iOS app that allows the user to select a large number of stills and output a video of them? Any thoughts from you would be terrific.

Take care … and take plenty of photographs … MomentsForZen (Richard)
