Artista Impresso — Passion Filled Impressionism

The 19th century brush-wielding Impressionist artists were crazy about flowers and gardens, and it was good. With flowing brush strokes and thickly painted texture, Van Gogh made his sunflowers immortal; with harmonious movement of color, contrast, and form, Monet made his lily pond a celebrity. It took their genius, lifetimes of practice, and navigating the riot of their senses, but these extraordinary artists took what they saw and felt in the petals and leaves and transferred their impressions onto canvasses full of beauty, mood, and meaning.

Lucky you, 21st century iPhone-wielding seer and lover of beauty—you have Impresso. With the same enduring attention to detail, light, color, and texure, Impresso transforms your photos into multi-textured, stroke-filled Impressionist masterpieces. And keen eyes will love how Impresso maintains the balance of your piece! The result—captivating, print- worthy paintings brimming with passion, life, and beauty.

One-touch settings automatically transform photos into paintings using one of many paint styles and a one-of-a-kind ellipse detail tool renders small brush strokes inside placed areas. A single ellipse can be used for a face or body; or use two or more for the eyes, hands or other objects. The canvas and linen texturing gives realism to brushed paint, however we’ve added control, which allows texturing to be turned down when printing to canvas.

My Impresso

Now the part you’ve all been waiting for, what do I really think !!! Ok, overall Impresso actually impressed me very much. I love Impressionism and this is the closest representation of that period in painting. I’ve been looking for a painterly app to give me Monet to Van Gogh brush strokes. Impressionism is all about the brush strokes to give you those amazing paint textures.

Resolution saves is 2401 x 2401 give or take. Impresso is universal to the iPhone/iPad and there’s an Android version too. Impresso is $2.99 and worth the price. Below is the list of the different version of the app.

Artistra Impresso – $2.99 universal iPhone/iPad
Artistra Impresso – $2.99 Android

If you have any questions about Impresso please leave comments or contact Jixipix >HERE<. Have a great evening and see you soon !!!

Artista Impresso looks fantastic! Love your beautiful flower edit! I hope that the app goes on sale for both the iPad and iPhone version. JixiPix apps rock and I’m lucky enough to have acquired them all so far, save for this one. It’s good to know that you’re impressed with Artista Impresso. Your approval reinforces just how great the developer(s) is/are at JixiPix. 😃

It looks great! As soon as it goes on sale I’ll purchase both the iPad and the IPhone versions. Your photo is beautiful…

Looks like another quality app from jixipix! Thank you for the review!

As we have come to expect from JixiPix, the effects are gorgeous, and the interface is familiar.

Just the little niggle about their statement “Support for high resolution images and output”. As you pointed out, a typical iPhone 2448 x 2448 pixel image is supported BUT the output is 2401 x 2401 pixels. And iPhone camera standard 4:3 3264 x 2448 images, the output is 3201 x 2401 pixels.

With the enormous processing capacity of modern mobile devices, I expect that the “standard” images from the camera should be supported (which this app DOES) and output with the same number of pixels (which this app DOES NOT).

Well….that won’t happen until the iPhone 4S is out of the picture completely. I predict we will see the out get higher when the next iPhone/iPad comes out. The iPhone 6/6+ only has 1 gig of ram (disappointing), where iPad Air 2 has 2 gigs of ram. Which makes a difference in processing and rendering. 2401 x 2401 is better than 2048 x 2048. I’ll take it !!!!

        Hello again Tina / ashcroft54.

You have a very educated and rational view of the difficulties in processing and rendering when haveing to support such a broad range of devices. I should be more cognisant that it is the lowest common denominator that determines what is possible.

The effects really are sweet in this app, and 3201 x 2401 is not so bad as you point out 🙂

Take care, my friend … MomentsForZen (Richard)
