    Hello Tina.

Thanks for the heads-up for this update. It is now saving at the resolution of the input (at least up to 3264 x 2448 pixels from my testing to date). The effects were always good, but now that it saves at a good resolution, it is going to stay on my iPad.

Here’s a little tidbit about resolution, app developers told me they can’t exceed 4096 x 4096. I’ve talk to enough of them to know they’re telling me the truth. So I’m not sure how people are working DSLR RAW files onto their iPads, unless they shot at a lower resolution. This could be the main reason why Apple hasn’t gone past the 8 megapixel camera.

      • rjllane says:

Hmmm … Interesting about the 4096 x 4096 pixel limit. That is plenty good enough for me.

As for the persistence of 8 MP cameras on Apple devices, we can do an awful lot with images of this size in terms of online posting, printing and dispalying on computer screens. The number of people who need more MP would be quite small – I can only see the advantage when printing out at substantial size (e.g., 20 x 30 inches). Otherwise, the images just take up more storage space and take longer to process.

I note in the context of image size that Sony’s fulll sensor mirrorless low light camera, the Alpha 7S, only outputs 12 MP. The forerunner to this, the Alpha 7, was 20 or 24 MP, but they decided that quality trumped quantity with the 7S!

May I simply just say what a relief to uncover somebody who really knows what they are
discussing online. You actually know how to bring an issue to light
and make it important. More and more people should read this and understand
this side of the story. It’s surprising you’re not more popular given that you certainly have the
    gift.
