You just watched a demo of SquidCam, today I’ll be reviewing the cases and lenses. I’ve played with the products and took photos with the help of my niece Vida. We went walking and she loves the cases and pieces. They cases remind me of Legos. This is what drew me on SquidCam besides the eye catching colors with lenses that your attach to the case.
Here are my SquidCam case and lens system for the iPhone 4/4s and iPhone 5/5s. As you can see they look different and I’ll be talking about the new hybrid cases for the iPhone 5/5s.
See the difference between the cases, the iPhone 4/4s is the original soft rubber case and the iPhone 5/5 s is hard thermo polymer plastic case. What you see on the iPhone 5/5s is the future for SquidCam cases and only offered for the iPhone 5/5s.
You can also see the difference in the camera/flash cut outs and the difference between the two cases. Sorry for the dog hair on the black case but you can see the quality between the two cases.
Hybrid iPhone 5/5S Case Demo…easy to pop in and a stronger case for a robust lifestyle.
I wanted to talk about the lenses and blocks. The blocks aren’t just aesthetically please but it has a really great purpose. The block make it helpful to grip the case better. It was really helpful with my right hand holding the case with the blocks on them. The lenses are really well made and they are glass not plastic.
This is how you get four lenses from two lenses. They screw off and on. What else is nice is you don’t have to worry about getting them mixed up if you screw them both off. You can see which one goes with the fisheye or wide angle, like you would with Olloclip 4-in-1.
I wanted to show what back and front lens looks like. They have a very solid and durable build. I even dropped the fisheye while changing my lens. It stayed in tack and no scratches. I don’t recommend you drooping to check but if it happens on accident. You will know the lenses will stay in tacked.
Here’s my fisheye and wide angle demo shots with the SquidCam lenses. Yes, that’s my shadow in the fisheye shot. I took the photos with ProCamera 7 and no process or editing.
I took some more fisheye shots on our walk. You can see Vida in the second one.
Now for me it’s all about the macro lenses, what I like about the photos is the natural light. Natural light equals natural beauty, I don’t even have to edit my macro photos with SquidCam. I just love how subtle the colors look on the macro photos look. They were taken from macro 10x and macro 15x lenses.
Overall SquidCam make a well made product for the mobile photographers on all levels, beginners to pros. I really like the cases and how the feel in my hands. They don’t feel cheap or flimsy. You don’t have to worry about your iPhone getting so scratched up when you change lenses over time. Your photos look great and your lenses are always with you. If you don’t want the lenses on your case, take them off and it’s an attractive case. It’s a multi purpose unit, so you’re covered with SquidCam.
