Now I don’t have any video demo to post for you about these other products from Square Jellyfish but I have photos. Today I’m showing you a combo pack that will get your started with mobile photography. The contents are Jelly Legs Micro Tripod, Micro Ball Head and Spring Tripod Mount. The pack is sold out at the moment and hopefully will be offered again soon on Amazon. You can buy all of these product separately or in other combo packs. Yes, that is my shoe in the photo reflected on the iPhone screen.
Here are all of the content out of the package, Jelly Leg Micro Tripod, Micro Ball Head and Spring Tripod Mount. This is a great pack if you’re starting out with Mobile Photography. You get all of the essentials of what you need.
Now the Micro Ball Head is a ball joint tripod head, it’s design for devices that are 9oz and below. I don’t recommend you use this tripod ball head with an iPhone or any smartphone with a battery case or any heavy case. The ball head is plastic and not made for anything heavy. It’s small and nice to carry with your on the go. You can order the Giotto Ball Head if you’re looking for something on more durable and can take devices that are more then 9oz. I wanted to add that you should buy some type of Micro Ball Head mount if you want to use Square Jellyfish products, so you can adjust your devices with easy and have a choice of different angles. I was also informed that Square Jellyfish is in the works of making a stronger Micro Ball Head mount, so hopefully I will get this soon.
The Jelly Legs Micro Tripod is really great if you’re looking for a simple stand for you mobile devices. They’re cute, compact and pretty sturdy. So this item can fit in your pocket, backpack, camera bag or purse, anytime you need something small to take a quick photo.
The next item is the Pocket Tripod. This is great for simple table top photography with you point and shoot to your smartphone. It has the standard tripod mount screw and all you have to do is screw in the Pocket Mount.
It has the standard tripod mount screw and all you have to do is screw in the Pocket Mount. It’s also adjustable if you want to place your point and shoot digital camera. All you have to do is unscrew the bottom and you can slide the screw up and down. There is a plastic washer to hole the screw or whatever you’re mounting on the Pocket Tripod. This is something that comes in handy if you need to something quick to mount your camera on. You still need a tripod head if you want to use the Pocket Tripod.
If you want something stronger you can purchase Square Jellyfish Pocket Tripod – Solid Aluminum for $12.95 on Amazon.
Now it looks like a foot if you use the Pocket Mount, it’s pretty sturdy and I really like it. I will probably want to get the Solid Aluminum to have for more extreme conditions or unusual photographic locations (Salton Sea or anywhere in the desert). If you want to take a long exposure photo, this little device will some in handy. This is worth the pick up if you’re into mobile photography or carry your point and shoot camera all the time.
Here’s something I wanted to show you called a 3 Arm Tripod Mount. I wasn’t suppose to write about this product because this will be discontinued after they have sold them all. But I still wanted to write about it, in case anyone was interested in getting it while it’s available.
You fold it out like a claw with the two arms on the bottom and one arm for the top to hold your smartphone in place. You can also turn the rubber grips to hole the smartphone in place better. There is a nob on the back to adjust the tightness of the arms when you spread them out.
The back view with my iPhone, I can see why they will discontinue this product. The 3 Arm Tripod Mount was made for a wider smartphone device. The iPhone is too small for this mount, so it falls out or doesn’t hold in place well. I tried it with a Mophie Case and you can forget using that or an Otter Box. This was really made ideally for Samsung Galaxy S3 and S4 or HTC One.
The Sun Shield comes in handy fro those sunny days at the park or the beach, when you want to watch something on your iPhone. I did have a little trouble using it and making it fit on my iPhone. The reason was it’s new and haven’t worked out the folds so the shield will fit properly. It does work and helps block out the sun light so you can watch videos or whatever. The Sun Shield is made and ideal for the iPhone but you can use it with other smartphones. I’m not sure how well they will work on larger smartphones but I’m sure you can make it work for you.
