That was a sample video done with Magnet Stick-on Spy Lens (90°) Periscoping Lens for Smartphone by DCkina. The periscope lens is universal to most smartphones so this isn’t an iPhone Only blog post. I’ve wanted one of these periscope lenses for a long time. Now I got one and will be able to test out a theory and do a Mobile TtV (Through the Viewfinder) Project.
This is what I got out of the plastic box from DCkina, periscope lens and box with a pack of C-Rings. I didn’t take a picture of the item in the box because the sun will reflect the box and make it hard to photograph it.
Here are my bag of extra C-Rings.
These are the actual picture of the periscope lens in my hand. I was so excited about getting one these. This lens is not cheaply made, it’s all metal shell with high-class glass and no plastic pieces. A sold piece of mobile equipment to have in your arsenal of mobile lenses.
– Universal periscope lens for any cell phone camera.
– Specially designed to increase the fun, functionality and versatility of your phone camera.
– Can be easily attached to your phone camera.
– Lens made of high-class glass.
– A very compact gadget to get picture in a more comfortable way
– Let you take pictures that the normal camera cannot fulfill
– A spy lens too, just pretend you are playing with your smartphone but indeed you are taking pictures
– If you are an iPhone user, no worries that the sensor will be blocked, we will have a dedicated ring included
Here I am scoping upward with the periscope lens at the clouds in sky. I’m using ProCamera 7 app for most of all the photos in this blog post too.
This is the actual cloud shot from the screen using the periscope lens and taken with ProCamera 7. The photos come out really nice and pretty sharp, which is really impressive.
Two more cloud photos using the periscope lens and taken with ProCamera 7.
I even shot at the sun with the periscope lens and that was fun. No blinding my eyes with this lens !!!
Something you really need to know in order to make sure your periscope is lined up properly with your iPhone or Smartphone. Make sure your lens is lined up and pointing this way or upward. You only have two ways to point the periscope without getting part of your iPhone or Smartphone in the photo. You also see how I have the hole lined up so the edge if the hole won’t get into the photo.
I wanted to show you another view so you can see how the periscope is pointing and you two different options of placing the periscope. The photos were taken with my sister’s iPhone 4S and her camera is a foggy compared to mine.
This isn’t the clearest of examples of showing you how the periscope works but you get the gist of the 90° angle.
This is the photo I took using the periscope from the example from up above. You get a pretty clear show of what’s going on and how the periscope operates. The Magnet Stick-on Spy Lens (90°) Periscoping Lens for Smartphone is on sale for $13.25 and a featured item on DCkina. This is a steal at that price and great for Christmas for the Mobile Photographer in your life or just for taking fun photos with.
I’m sure you’re all thinking I was using an iStabilizer but I wasn’t, in fact I was using DCkina’s Camera Phone Tripod Mount Holder (for iPhone / Galaxy Note / S).
Mount your smartphone or mobile device to any standard tripod – with this Tripod Mount. This accessoryis designed and engineered to work with all smartphones including iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone, FLIP MinoHD, UltraHD, and all models of the iPod Touch.
The Tripod Mount is small enough to travel with you wherever life takes you. Once you’ve attached the Tripod Mount to your tripod, just pop in your smartphone or mobile device and you’re ready to go! Its quick access mount lets you instantly swap devices. Capture one scene on your phone and switch to snap another picture on your device. The Tripod Mount can be used on any tripod with a standard ¼ x20″ camera mount.
Now I paid $19.95 for an iStabilizer and took me a month to get one of those. I should of waited because DCkina makes almost the same thing for a crushing $2.75. They are both made the same exact way only difference is you “iStabilizer” printed on your tripod mount. It made me wonder what was I paying for in the first place. iStablizer does make a Mount XL for the same price $19.95 but you’re better off buying this from DCkina instead, I don’t need to pay the ridiculous extra cost for a name printed on a tripod mount. Since iStablizer ignores my emails and never around to talk to on their messenger system, I might as well let everyone know about this. Good thing iStablizer likes to ignore customers and media inquiries to regular people like me !!!
