Combo Apps/Birthday Blog Post

Camera Roll-5825

Today I turned 44 years old and wanted to share this gift I got from <strongCarolyn Hall Young. The original photo was taken my good friend Chris Flores at San Diego Gay Pride 2012. I was really happy that day because I was with good friends, having a good time and made an important decision that day. That no matter what happened a woman name Helen Patel made a deep profound impression on me. Who knows Helen might be reading this blog post for all I know, I can only hope…

What I learn is giving in doesn’t make you weak and always being right doesn’t make you strong. Just like an argument I had today, I made my points clear. When the argument shifted and went in different direction, that person was frustrated and left. I was like OK…whatever and just left it. That argument was a test. To test me on letting things go…I didn’t care about being right. I knew I said the truth and the best part was I didn’t feel angry. In fact I just went back to emailing companies, responding to freinds and looking for information about writing my book.

I want to share this with you all because I took all this for granted. I had one foot in my past, the other foot on my future and pissing on my presence. The reasons were me being lost in my ego and letting my bad thoughts control my outcome.

This is your life. Do what you want and do it often.
If you don’t like something, change it.
If you don’t like your job, quit.
If you don’t have enough time, stop watching TV.
If you are looking for the love of your life, stop; they will be waiting for you when you start doing things you love.
Stop over-analysing, life is simple.
All emotions are beautiful.
When you eat, appreciate every last bite.
Life is simple.
Open your heart, mind and arms to new things and people, we are united in our differences.
Ask the next person you see what their passion is and share your inspiring dream with them.
Travel often; getting lost will help you find yourself.
Some opportunities only come once, seize them.
Life is about the people you meet and the things you create with them, so go out and start creating.
Life is short, live your dream and wear your passion.

Now that I look back I’m better off just being here and sorting myself out. When everything is sorted then the good things will come my way, so I’ve surrender myself to life. I know in a year everything will work out. I am grateful and thankful for Chris and Carolyn being part of my life and having crossed paths with them. This is probably one of the best birthday presents I ever got in my life. It reminds me I can be a happy person and just let things happen naturally…Thanks Chris and Carolyn for being part of my life, last I thank Priyanka Patel a.k.a. Aunty for telling me those simple things…

    Happy birthday!

Thanks for sharing this important lesson. Letting go is hard. You seem to be learning that skill well.
